CARS Bento

My Little Sweet Pea will start school this fall, so I haven’t gotten into making “boy” bentos. However, with a playdate picnic planned, I made him his first bento. He was so excited.

I made him his favorite, mac & cheese, to ensure he would love his first bento. And used a bento box decked out in his favorite love – CARS!! He loooooves Cars. To say the least, his first bento was a hit. In a few months I will have to make two bentos in the morning and wonder what that will be like. 🙂

She’s Back – Hello Kitty! :-)

Hello Kitty Mac and Cheese

Hello Kitty Mac and Cheese

She is back! 😉  My quick and easy Hello Kitty couldn’t stay away for long.  Although, she almost didn’t have a bow because I didn’t have my usual standby bow ingredient – kamaboko.  I stood looking in my refrigerator for a few seconds thinking “now what???” and then I saw the apples!  Ah ha…. I used the apple peel as the bow. It was a bit hard to cut out but I think it worked out okay.  I guess you can say this bento has a few of my favorites, or Ms. Little Bubbles favorites – Lunch Bots container, Hello Kitty, steamed cinnamon apples, mac and cheese and ginger cookies.  🙂

It’s simple, it’s fast, and she loves it. Mac & Cheese Bento.

Today is yet another quick bento. Humm… I’m not sure if I can even call a thermos lunch a bento.
Today Ms. Little Bubbles is having mac and cheese with hot dogs in her thermos. In one of my favorite Elph containers I have cinnamon apples, edamame and steamed carrots. The cinnamon apples are so good! I had to stop eating them so she would have some for lunch! 🙂

Remember to Separate the Tofu

10 Aug

Simple Mac & Cheese

This was a fast and simple mac and cheese bento.  It shouldn’t have taken too long to make, but Little Sweet Pea was up, and whenever he is up that early in the morning, life is always a bit sweeter but more hectic.  After looking at the bento, I feel like I should have put some type of decoration in the tofu section, but ah well…  This bento is a perfect example of why you need to divide your food. Tofu is watery and needs to be separated from other food.  If you plan on putting tofu in your bento, be sure to separate it from other food, and keep it cool.  I generally always include an ice pack in Ms. Little Bubbles bentos, and today was no different.

I love this bento box (it is one of my favorite, and the first really good bento box that I purchased) because it has three divided sections.  Given the sections come out, I’ve also used them in other bento boxes.

Contents: Mac and Cheese, strawberries, tofu, and carrot flowers.
